Will you open up to me? Across this lonely galaxy Blinded by the sun You blow off everyone Will you breach the atmosphere with me? Dive headfirst into eternity Will you shed your shell? You've got so much to tell Will or won't you open up to me? The planet is at your feet The stars are within your reach Please tell me what you see And open up to me Because of what you mean to me I'm begging you to please Open up to me Will you feel too exposed When your inner core explodes When the ice all melts away Will you run or will you stay? Your heart is warmed by the sun But will you come undone? Will or won't you open up to me? Will you open up to me?

Worlds Apart 05:02
Boundaries unseen - the great distance between Across a canvas of eternity Cold stars are piercing my side Your thoughts reach out a distant connection In return your eyes meet my reflection Crystal spheres collide We might come from distant corners of the galaxy But that doesn't mean you're worlds apart from me All the stars are eyes and they're looking at us Will we be controlled by their reactions Or will you follow your heart Their rules and traditions are too demanding All of space is constantly expanding Will they tear us apart We might come from distant corners of the galaxy But that doesn't mean you're worlds apart from me There might be a gap of all eternity But that doesn't stop your love from reaching me

The spaceman was strange He wasn't quite the same He dreamed of escape In his sparkling cosmic cape The planet was full Of noisy things and fools He was okay until They asked him to play by their rules A rocket bursting through the night The spaceman waved his last goodbye And they watched him explode into light The people built walls Surrounding their brains They locked thoughts outside To pretend they're sane They bathed in the dark They drowned out the spark They cannot dream What they might have been if they could have seen A rocket bursting through the night Imagination engines burning bright The madman's dreams that were hidden from sight Will one day explode into light Are you trying to heed your calling Are you flying or are you falling Your brain is a dream engine of insanity Ride your mind's stream And break through the bounds of reality The atmosphere won't hold you down Abandon your fear And blast off from the ground A rocket bursting through the night Imagination engines burning bright The child's dreams that were hidden from sight Now explode into light

Touch the grey You are told you may Then file back in line Hold the gold You are always told Is worth all of your time Hypnotized, you materialize Within their big machine Then realize this is not the life Lived through the tv screen Try to build your mind all on your own Redefine all that is thought as known Race towards the big rewards Of power, fame, and wealth Neglect to feed your body's need Of pleasure, love, and health Cut through the bullshit, hurry up and fax it The deal has been sealed with a check Your blood has been sold; now you're too old To lose the collar from around your neck I try to find a peace within myself A special place made for no one else ... What they place in your mind Is your reality What they find in your mind Is their property... Try to find a piece within yourself A special place survived by no one else

Black smoke and fumes Calamity looms Greedy green eyes Agents of demise We've only just begun We're already coming undone Jealous, jaded jerks Mucking up the works It's on the wing, what's happening There's someone on the wing A gremlin perched upon our fate To crash and burn everything Nibbling, fiddling, meddling And munching on our wires The gremlins on our wings Are the pests of our desires Dark and dreary days Within your murky, miasmic maze Caught in your dull gaze Mired in your tired ways Restless little scamp Messing with my amp Doing your foul job Fiddling with my knob It's on the wing, what's happening There's someone on the wing A gremlin perched upon our fate To crash and burn everything Nibbling, fiddling, meddling And munching on our wires The gremlins on our wings Are the pests of our desires We've only just begun Coming undone...

Sunsets roll into oblivion Beams break through the world you’re living in You step outside to try But you can’t remember why Darkness paints the windows The world has turned from the sun The remains of the day have faded away Night has begun A new season rides upon the air You think of home and what’s no longer there A cascade of gold pours into the mold From another starless night, you've been spared With the burning away of the crystal sky As the blinding blue grows strong The hope is refilled, but it only lasts until The shadows have grown long The beast in flight casts wings of the night And withholds the sky’s jewel Like the pharaoh’s cold hold remains on his gold Though he never again will rule Sunrises roll into oblivion Dreams break through the world you’re living in You go outside to try But you can’t retrace the steps lost in your mind

Lonely Star 04:26
Lonely star In the cold sky So bright and so far Reaching my eye Leading me on Are you lonely just like me? There you are Piercing the night Exposing your heart And burning it bright Consuming your life To fuel the fire Sustaining your own flight Until you tire Of leading us on Are you burning out your own soul? Just to show your light to us all Are you burning out your own soul? But just like me, you are only mortal There's a hole in the sky Where you once shown It's still filled with light So, we'd never know That you faded out So long ago Your life still shines so bright Upon my home Leading me on Were you burning out your own soul? Just to show your light to us all Were you burning out your own soul? But just like me, you were only mortal

Termina 05:28
I've been called young Even though I am quite old My tale is unsung But the ending is foretold I've seen so many go Stars much bigger than I Even now gone They still light up the sky I miss my younger days Endless possibilities Swapped chaos for stability What a pity You can turn to science To find the keys to limitless life But the world you live on Doesn't seem to have that right You can run From the sun To seek shelter on distant homes You can search forever But you'll find yourself out in the cold I've been betrayed By what I have made Nothing left of mine Taken away by time Tenacity Technology Space colonies They will save me I miss the good old days But there's still better ahead At least I believe what I said Those around me are either dying Or falling apart I know for sure now that I'm closer To the finish than the start Almost broken down Not familiar to the old days Can I be saved Or will the end just be delayed Please come back to me I've drifted so far I can't even see my own star You can turn to science To find the keys to limitless life But the world you live on Doesn't seem to have that right You can run From the sun To seek shelter on distant homes You can search forever But you'll find yourself out in the cold Nothing left to say No one to hear it anyway Is this my final day Hello?

Royalty 10:55
9) Royalty Lynch mob going after the sun Hunt of love, but it's just begun Warm blood of the wounded sun Oh yes, she's the one Cold killer in the afternoon Her blood's shining on the moon The Lion's eyes are gripped with fear As the lady sings that spring is near Will you let her under your skin Will you let the murders begin? Royalty, divided nation Unguided exploration Liberty, uncertainty Cultured hypocrisy Televised autonomy Electrified supremacy Queen destruction, close your eyes Green instruction, hypnotize All forgotten will return In the future from the past, we will burn Wasteland evolution Imperial delusion Opinionated constitution The circus guide will entertain Their racial war - an endless chain The system's whore is greeted with green She wears the crown, but has never been seen Slip inside the American Queen Run away with the American Dream We'll wonder through the dessert Into our dreams We'll fly through the night And its uncertainty We'll see the snakes alongside of us Won't win this love without trust We'll fight the sun from coming down on us We'll beg the moon to dance through us Love holds the strangest fear Without hate we'd have never have made it here Adore the moon Adore our moon Wasteland evolution Imperial delusion The stage is set for revolution

Alien 10:32
Calling out across all space Searching for a friendly alien face Alienated from the outside Isolated within the inside Alone, apart - the space between Alienated within the you That is never seen Trapped inside this inertial message Traveling just to reach someone One ongoing journey Racing towards what I become Cold and separate from a warm embrace Native child in a foreign place Painting on his alien face Drifting away from the human race Drifting away Crowded on this native stone I feel that I am so alone An alien child Isolated upon my earthen home Now that I am found I can see the unknown When we leave Will we still be alone?

about

By high decree of the Zogg Galactic Empire, we have been ordered to record our progressive alt rock sonic poetry, to demonstrate what the band The Mindstream sounds like when performing. So, here it is - a collection of original music, ranging from intergalactic love, loneliness, revolving states of mind, examinations of the worst side of humanity, and anything and everything you may find on your travels within the vast galaxies between the hearts and minds of all beings.

Have a listen, follow us, and give a like: www.facebook.com/TheMindstream

We were also fortunate to have the amazing artist, David Copson, create an original painting on canvas to be used as the album cover. You can view the original painting here: inyostudio.com/portfolio/soul-mates-7 and browse more of his fantastic artwork here: inyostudio.com
